7 Habits to Beat the Winter Blues…

Good morning everyone and Happy Monday! Or at least, I hope it’s a happy Monday for you 🙂

We are right in the middle of one of the coldest winter’s in recent memory. Temperatures have hovered in the teens here in the Northeast and it has snowed more than I care to think about. But I happen to love the winter and the introspection it engenders. That is not the case with everyone though. Some people don’t like the winter at all and it’s not just because it is cold. For many people, winter is a time of sadness and depression because they suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) happens during the shorter days of winter, leading to feelings of anxiety and depression. For some, the lack of light leads to insufficient levels of serotonin production, the neurotransmitter that is necessary for a balanced and happy mood. This is a very uncomfortable time of year for those susceptible to SAD and it can lead to poor eating habits, broken sleep and lethargy.

If you or someone you know suffers from SAD then you will want to watch (or share) today’s video, where I will share with you 7 habits to help alleviate SAD.

You will learn what foods you should be avoiding and those to include to help stabilize your mood. You will also hear about what lifestyle habits would be most beneficial for you to engage in during this time of the year. I will also share with you the perfect snack to have every day to boost serotonin production naturally and help keep it steady throughout the afternoon.

Once you have watched the video, I’d love to hear from you! Do you suffer from SAD? If so, is there a particular habit or healthy food you include to help you find balance? I’d love to hear your feedback and learn what has most helped you.

I hope the winter has been good to you so far and I am wishing you a happy and healthy week.

Have a great Monday!
