Quick, Delicious and Traditional Guacamole!

I so often come across people who avoid fats for fear that eating fats are making them gain weight. And while eating fried foods and foods high in saturated fats can certainly pack on the pounds and elevate cholesterol levels, a certain amount of fats in the diet is necessary to help promote healthy brain chemistry along with vibrant hair skin and bones. And in my mind, the most delicious way to include healthy fats in the diet is with avocados and from there, it takes just minutes to enjoy a delicious and nutritious guacamole.

Avocados are high in potassium, making them a great for preventing muscle cramps and managing blood pressure. In addition, they are a wonderful source of glutathione, the master antioxidant in the liver that helps protect your body’s immune function. From there, we add cilantro, limes, red onions and jalapenos to make one of the most delicious spreads out there that you can use on sandwiches or with chips for a quick and healthy treat.

In today’s video, I will show you my favorite guacamole recipe, one that makes an appearance on my table often. Whip it up this Labor Day for your end-of-summer-fiesta! And in another upcoming Motivational Monday video, I will be sharing my favorite fish taco so stay tuned for that!

So let’s hear from you! Do you have a favorite way of enjoying guacamole? Are there any secret ingredients you include? I’d love to hear your comments and feedback below….

Enjoy your last hoorah of summer and I’ll see you next week!
