Welcome to My New Website!

Happy Monday everyone!

I am so excited about today’s blog, because I am finally launching my new website after months of preparation! It’s been a long time coming, but I think the results are there. There are a few elements that still need fine-tuning, but ultimately I think it’s already much easier to find the resources that you need.

This week I want to do something different. Rather than you hearing from me, I want to hear from YOU!

I am committed to making this site a great place for inspiration, resources, recipes and anything that will be useful in helping each of you achieve your health goals. While I cannot comment on the specific health concerns of individuals I am not working with, I can still give broad overviews of how to help manage or prevent diseases, and this is where YOU can help ME.

In the comments below I want you to tell me what you would love to see more of…

  • Do you prefer videos or written blogs?
  • Are you interested in recipes, nutritional guidelines, or inspirational stories?
  • What kinds of topics would you like to see more of?
  • What else do you think would help me make the website great?

If you’ve been wanting to make a request on a video idea, this is your chance. So let me know your thoughts and feedback in the comments below.

I can’t wait to read your comments so that I can continue to make my website a place you want to spend time so that you can get the information you need to live your healthiest life.

Have a great Monday and thank you in advance for your comments!

I like the videos! Getting nutritional information and ways to achieve goals for specific needs. I think your explanations are spot on.

  2. AvatarCatherine Boyer

    The website looks great!

I like both blogs and videos – it would be fine with me if you alternate them. I like the nutritional guidelines a lot – the seven foods to eat in order to X type of thing. I like recipes even though I don’t cook. 🙂 I’d find your interpretation research to be helpful.

    Hello Barbara!
I love your videos ! (It would be nicer if you had a mic attached to you to reduce the slight echo. That is just me and my former radio career coming forward.) I know that what you are saying is the most important thing.
I look forward to Mondays to hear what you have to say…and am grateful it isn’t an everyday thing, like some blogs/websites I have unsubscribed to.
    Keep up the good work!

Thanks Kate! I know about the sound.. it’s a series of reasons but the bottom line is an upgrade on camera and gear~ it’s on the agenda~
Thanks for your comment and I am glad you enjoy the blog!
      All the best~

    Hey B~

Great looking website! It’s gorgeous and easy to use and navigate. I love the format and layout of the recipe page!

More on low-sodium recipes, that have flavor without salt. Food plans for those of us who have advanced liver disease.
    Thanks so much!

    1. Avatarval

Lana, perhaps some spices and herbs…lemon juice adds good flavor somewhat similar to salt (and someone I know told me the sour taste buds are next to our salt taste buds so it’s sort of a trick for our mouths!) Will await Barbara’s much better advice of course, great to see this website! ALSO: Mrs. Dash makes some very nice herb blends you can buy in the grocery store…I adore their Southwestern Chipotle blend myself.

Congratulations, I like your videos and more information about Hormonal imbalance, monthly heavy periods and skin, hair care after 40.

I really look forward to your weekly Motivational Monday message–I get a lot of junk e-mails and yours is NOT one of them.

Also, wanted to let you know again–that through your guidance with supplements, nutrition and all your other help, I have been IN TOTAL REMISSION FOR THE PAST 7 1/2 YEARS. THANKS SO MUCH.

Barbara Congratulations on your new website I love it , its bright and welcoming.
I love that all the videos and recipes are clearly display and easy to select.
I personally prefer to watch a video as its a great excuse to take a few minutes out and spend it with you being educated in nutritional excellence.
I am a plant based eater and would love to have some information on taking B12 which I take 1000 grams daily as a supplement and also flax seeds I try to take 1tablespoon a day recommended dose but still find it hard to find what to do with them and if I add to cereal / oatmeal with hot milk does it destroy all the goodness.

Also do you think that nutritional yeast has any benefits?

The photography is stunning with a beautiful picture of you. You are certainly a great advertisement for healthy eating.
On another note in a recent video you suggested that we use exfoliating gloves to pepe up our circulation well I have now made this a daily habit by keeping them in the shower instead of in a drawer so there are no excuses to use them now and enjoy this daily ritual.

I am looking forward to all the videos thank you so much for making this happen and good luck for the future.

Thank you Sheila! I appreciate your input. And thanks for the suggestion… I will make a video for the Vegan lifestyle and will make sure to address your specific questions.
So glad to know you enjoy the videos~ I really love making them 🙂

thank you. I agree that a mix of videos and written blogs are good as they fit the need of everyone’s busy schedules.
Healty recipes are always welcomed especially in post-cancer situations. Nutritional guidelines are of quintessential value, as we all ned to be reminded of what we may have learned in the past, but forgotten. Just continue doing the wonderfl job you’ve been doing…….we really appreciate YOU!

    1. AvatarBarbara Mendez RPh MS Post author

Thanks so much Mary! It gives me great pleasure to connect with people all over the world and the videos have certainly allowed for that. I appreciate your input and will add post-cancer nutrition to the list.
      Thanks again!

First of all the website is so beautiful! Love the photos!
    • Do you prefer videos or written blogs? I really enjoy the videos
    • Are you interested in recipes, nutritional guidelines, or inspirational stories? Love the recipes and nutritional guidelines.
    • What kinds of topics would you like to see more of? I know this is atricky topic but I am very confused about supplements, especially probiotics
    • What else do you think would help me make the website great? Have taken a quick look this morning…will take an in-depth look later….

    1. AvatarDorothy Lewis

      Hello Barbara,
I started with you last year and I can’t tell you how much your videos mean to me. I try to incorporate some of what your Motivational Mondays share with us each week. I like your videos, they are more personal and it makes me feel like I’m there with you. I’m interested in anything you have to say, so recipes, guidelines or stories to inspire are all great. I have nothing to add to what you provide. You do it all. Please keep it up. Truly thanking you for all that you do to keep us healthy and happy. Congrats on your new site!

      1. AvatarBarbara Mendez RPh MS Post author

Thanks Dorothy! I can’t tell you what a joy it is to read that the videos are so well received! I am so glad that I have been helpful to you~
Stay well and thank you again!

    2. AvatarBarbara Mendez RPh MS Post author

Thanks Roberta! I will see what I can do about the supplements to make them less mysterious to viewers…
And I appreciate your feedback on the site….
Hope all is well with you!

  16. AvatarAnne

You look so beautiful and healthy in the images on your new website.
I love both the video and blog as both reinforce the great information you are giving us. I enjoy the recipes and the nutritional guidelines. I find the video and blog inspirational in themselves.
I would like some information foods and recipes for a healthy spleen and tendonitis.
I do not know anything about websites so I can not comment on improvement. I can find my way around your website with ease and this means a lot.
You are doing a fantastic job. Always look forward to seeing your greeting Monday am. Loved your video with Tao.

  17. AvatarCarol Hopper

Congrats on your new website! It looks terrific and I found it easy to navigate.
I like a mix of videos and blogs for the same reason stated so well by the person above…..it’s nice to see and hear from you, but it’s also quicker to read a blog.
I searched both a recipe and an issue and found that a green bar came up at the bottom of the page which blocked the full title of those items at the very bottom. In one case, there were only three results, so all the titles were not completely displayed and I could only see them by clicking on them. Thought you would like to know. Thanks again for all the great info!

    1. AvatarBarbara Mendez RPh MS Post author

Thanks Yasmine!! So good to hear from you! There are videos in the archives about supplements that help to stabilize blood sugar, all of which would be helpful with sugar cravings… you can do a search on the front page of the site.
Hope you are well! And thanks again for the comment~

Yes, I am heartbroken about Nepal… such a tragedy…. I don’t know how such poor country will persevere…

I like a mix of videos and written blogs.. sometimes I’m in a hurry (most of the time) and just want to skim but it’s nice to stay connected and “see” you too. I like the simpler recipes. Have been so happy reading you each week. Keep it up and thanks.
