9 Tips to Help Manage Auto-Immune Disorders

Happy Monday everyone!

Several months ago, a fan of my channel reached out and asked what she could do to manage her auto-immune disease. Sadly, these disorders are becoming more prevalent than ever and I often see clients battling conditions like Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis or Multiple Sclerosis. I decided then, to make a video that presents an overview of what one can do if they’ve been diagnosed with an auto-immune disease to start walking the path towards health.

Auto-immune disorders happen because the body’s immune system has started attacking itself. Western medicine typically uses immuno-suppresive drugs to manage these conditions, which can leave the sufferer open to secondary infections and other issues. But luckily, there is a lot you can do naturally to help restore some order within your body, to allow your immune system to function as it should.

Today I offer you nine suggestions to help you get a hold of your health. They are all very practical and doable and will leave you feeling much better in no time.

Once you’ve watched the video, I’d love to hear from you.

Have you ever been diagnosed with an auto-immune disease? If so, what have you done to help yourself manage it? Did you try Western medicine or opt for a more holistic approach instead? Perhaps you combined the two and found results that way. I’d love to hear what worked and what didn’t work for you in the comments below.

As always, I am grateful to my viewers and to those that comment. I hope you have an excellent week and that you are well.

PS: When you watch the video you’ll see I got all my numbers messed up, so have a chuckle and know that we do lots of videos at once and my brain can get fried by the end of it 🙂

Hello Barbara. Just want to let you know that I have healed myself of Lupus (2 hospitalizations and no “life”) by following a similar regimen from another nutritionist. The difference is, that I went through a cleansing process first, and the focus is on (first eliminating overgrowth, now) keeping candida at bay. I am drug free, symptom free, take supplements, exercise, and rest. Similar to your recommendation, I do not eat gluten, dairy, sugar (no sweeteners except for Stevia and Xylitol), soy, corn, alcohol, coffee/caffeine, and just 1 piece of fruit a day. Because of lupus, I now live an extremely healthy life and should have high quality aging!

How wonderful Lori! That is such a great testimonial to the power of solid nutrition~ It pleases me to know that you took control of your health and with a qualified nutritionist reversed course on what could’ve been a progressively compromising disease. Bravo! Wishing you a very happy and healthy 2017!

Hi, I have Multiple Myeloma which deals with the immune system. I take a immune modulator Revlimid that is a prescription drug along with dexamethasone daily. I also take oil of Oreganol and Curamed every day. What are your thoughts on this?

    Thanks,
    Cindee

Thank you so much for your excellent video tips.
I’m Korean previously asked about grapefruit thing.
I expected your new video and your tips in this video also encourage my practice of healthy foods intake for fighting my liver cancer and diabetes.
Repeated principle stress strengthen my belief of holistic raw food therapy.
I agree with the theory of “Eat full, Starve cancer cell”
Some of my questions are about 4,5,8.

First, about 4. as fermented food I eat soybean paste, watery kimchi and raw fermented vinegar of perssimon and dandellion for vinegar use. and considerimg thistle vinegar. Do you think these are good for fighting cancer and strengthen immunity.
Korean soybean paste and red kimchj are salty and spicy.
So I’m a bit hesitating these 2. What do you think.

Second, about 5.my charge doctor recommended me drinking black coffee for fighting liver cancer and the coffee effect of recovering and preventing liver cancer cell already proved worldwide. What’s your opinion of black coffee drinking?

Last third, about 8. Just walk out and bask in the sun makes Vitamin D form in body. How about outside walking under the sun?
And for complex Vitamins intake my friend doctor recommended me to intake Centrum.
What do you think this Vitamin complex supplements for my liver cirrhosis? Raw food holistic diet for essential Vitamins isn’t better?

      Hi Gyeong-hoon~
Fermented foods can be a great way to help boost immunity but if it’s salty, then can be too much on the body particularly if you have cirrhosis, because of the potential for water retention. If you can find a way to make your own that would be best. Fermented foods is one of the main aspects of a raw food diet.

I am not a fan of black coffee for fighting liver cancer or any cancer b/c of the acidity it creates in the body. What might be incredibly useful though is coffee enemas, but you would have to discuss that with a qualified health care provider.

Centrum is not a potent multi-vitamin. There are many on the market that are better. Unfortunately though, I can not make specific recommendations to you since I don’t work with you personally, and some multi’s have too many nutrients in them that might be counter to your condition, What I will say though is to not take anything with Iron in it. As for vitamin D, any sun exposure is helpful.

I hope you are coming along and are better!

Thank you Barbara for your helpful advises.
As the result of following your raw food suggestion, my health condition recovered so much, so I’ll follow your suggestions continually.
Because of my recovery, my charge doctor recommended me to get embolization of liver cancer.
Nowadays I’m worrying about whether take embollization or continue to raw food therapy, which I have big trust.

Thank you so much for your reply comment and have happy days!
